What is a DTF (Direct to Film) Transfer?

DTF, short for Direct To Film, is a versatile printing method where designs and colors are printed onto a special film.

This film is then applied to a variety of materials, including cotton, polyester, and linen, using a heat press for a mere 15 seconds to ensure a durable transfer.

What do I need to place an order?

You just need your image(s) along with the desired image sizes and quantities!

You can upload your artwork right on the order page and leave the notes in the box below.

If necessary, we can get you quoted if you're unsure how to proceed with your order.

How fast will my order arrive?

Our standard processing time is 24-48 hours.

How do I know what size transfer to purchase?

Before you order, it's best you know how large you want the design to be on the product.

From there, you can find one of our many transfer sizes to fit your image within.

Ex: You have a design that you want to be 10" wide and 4.5" tall on a shirt or hoodie. Our 11"x5" SmoothPrint DTF Transfer will be perfect!

Where can I send my artwork?

If an order hasn't been placed, you can upload your artwork directly through the product page prior to adding the items to your cart. If you'd prefer to email the artwork, please include the order number in the subject line.

If you've already placed an order and did not upload the artwork, please include the order number in the subject line, you can send the images to orders@smoothprints.co (not .com).

Is my artwork good enough for printing?

If you are worried about the quality of your image being too low or you just want to get your artwork edited, please email/chat with us and one of our experienced designers can assist you! Please allow up to 24 hours for one of our Smooth Family members to get back to you.

How well do your transfers last in the wash?

Our transfers have been rigorously evaluated across an wide range of products.

When washing cold and hang drying, expect 30+ washes before you see any significant fading and/or cracking.

What is the best file format for my artwork?

Vector art is always preferred, raster art should be at least 300 dpi. Preferred file types: .AI, .PDF

Accepted files types: .JPG, .PNG

    Press with medium to high pressure for 12-15 seconds at 300°F / 150°C.

  • Peel

    Peel

    Wait 15 seconds until transfer is cool to the touch, then peel and enjoy!
